Donnie Darko Explanation (Day 2) -S. Darko Marathon-

Wake up, Donnie.

Welcome back to Day 2 of the S. Darko marathon. Okay, I've been getting a lot of criticism comments (that I removed) saying I suck because (at the bottom) it says S. Darko is a movie I want to see. Incorrect. Those are just some new "good-looking" (i.e. CGI, special FX) movies coming out. (DVD/Theaters.) Now, I never said I want to see them at all. I mainly want to see Astro Boy. And S. Darko just seems cool, but doesn't look good... like, you should never try to make a sequel to a classic. (Like Donnie Darko)

Now, this S. Darko marathon is just so people can understand Donnie Darko clearer with my middle schooler brain.

Okay, here you are:

The Main Explanation

Problem: The problem is that the main explanation is a very, very confusing concept and they are right. It produces many problems for one's mind to comprehend.
Answer: Okay, this is gonna be long.

Before I explain the time periods, (days), I will explain the main concept.

- Main Concept
* A living receiver (lr) must guide the artifact (a) to the original position it was in in order for it to travel back through the primary universe (pu). The person most affected by the (a) is chosen to be (lr) and so the person must be the center of the tangent universe (tu) and is the only one who can close it. (a)s are made of metal, always, and the (lr) must, always, and will, always, retrieve it with great interest and curiosity. The (lr)'s job is to send the (a) back to the (tu). If a person is deceased somehow in the Tangent Dimension (tu/td) the become the manipulated dead (md) and have special powers in which allow them to contact the (lr) via the fourth-dimensional construct (fdc). The (md) will normally set an ensurance trap (et) for the (lr) to ensure the (a) will easily and properly make it's way back to the (pu). At the focal point in the time paradox (tp) as the (tu) begins to disappear, a wormhole (tear in the universe) will appear. "If the Ensurance Trap is succesful, the Living Receiver is left with no choice but to use his Fourth Dimensional Power to send the Artifact back in time into the Primary Universe before the Black Hole collapses upon itself." If the (et) is not successful, the (tu) will restart from the beginning of the creation of the (tu), and will continuously repeat itself, until the (tu) is closed.

- What Donnie Goes Through...
* Donnie is the living reciever and must retrive the artifact from inside the tangent universe. The part of the movie from when Frank guides Donnie away from the crash, to when Donnie creates the crash is in the tangent universe. Everything else is the primary universe. Frank is the manipulated dead. He was deceased in the tangent universe somehow, and can now contact the living reciever via fourth-dimensional construct; the mirror. Donnie's worst fear is dying alone, correct? Well, the ensurance trap is him dying alone because when Gretchen is murdered by the real Frank (not the manipulated dead one) Donnie becomes alone. And in one of the earlier time loops (there have been more then one) he obviously found out how he would have to die alone, and Gretchen would live in the next time loop, never knowing Donnie existed, or Gretchen would die, and Donnie would live on in his life, knowing he is alone forever. (THE ENSURANCE TRAP WAS EITHER HIM REALIZING HE MUST DIE ALONE OR GRETCHEN'S DEATH.) When the real Frank (again, not the manipulated dead Frank) is shot, he dies in the tangent universe, and thus, he is now the manipulated dead. So the old (md) Frank disappears and a new one is made. If Franks do not complete the tasks, then the tangent universe will restart again.

Examples:

-Time Periods

October 1st - Donnie wakes up from the "restartion" of the new time loop. He laughs because he realizes he just survived his previous time loop.

October 2nd (TU)- Frank wakes Donnie up, and saves his life from a crashing jet engine.

October 30th (TU) - Donnie uses a wormhole to shoot the jet engine back through time in the primary universe to October 2nd.

October 2nd (PU) - Donnie laughs as he realizes he is about to die alone, but happy, knowing he saved the universe.

astro boy movie

I know most hardcore fans are excited about Astro Boy coming out. This amazing film is in CGI and, as you can see, it looks pretty hardcore. I will definitely be seeing this the day it comes out. For those of you who do not know who Astro is, he is a robot who was created by Dr. Tenma, originally to replace his dead son, Tobio, but because Astro was just a robot, and could not age and grow, Dr. Tenma abandoned him to a robot circus, led by an evil man, Ham Egg. (What the heck of a kide was named Ham Egg? Poor guy.) At the circus, Astro was adopted by Professor Ochanomizu. He was given a whole entire robot family to take care of him. As head of the Ministry of Science, Professor Ochanomizu often calls on Astro to help resolve situations involving humans, robots, and on occasion, extraterrestrials.

This may seem like a childish fairy-tale to you, but trust me:

It's freaking hardcore.

So try to read as many Astro Boy mangas / watch as many Astro Boy animes as you can.

timeless - fan book?

I really want to write a fan book to Donnie Darko. I'm just so obsessed right now. Hee hee. If I do, I would name it Timeless, so I don't have to infringe on a whole lot of copyright-crap.
Basically, it would be about the beginning of Donnie Darko; his birth and childhood. It would show his nightmares and hallucinations in a strange way, as if they were good. I would also make the conversations of Dr. Thurman and Donnie in a script form, so it would be like they were being video-taped from a security camera. The book would end when the second time loop of the time paradox ends, and it restarts. So basically, it ends after the third beginning of the Donnie Darko movie. (as in Donnie Darko movie, three times.)

Am I confusing you?

Donnie Darko Explanation (Day 1) -S. Darko Marathon-

Okay, Easter is on it's way children, and Frank the 6-foot tall bunny rabbit will definitely be there. *Virtual cookie to anyone who gets the Frank joke.*
Okay, I have no idea whether you know or not, but a sequel (I may or may not want to see) is coming out for Donnie Darko called S. Darko. I believe it to be coming out on May 19, 2009. The person playing Samantha Darko is (strangely) the same person who played her in 2001. The two-minute trailer does not give us a lot of info, but we can tell that, whether you think it'll be good or not, you'll still wanna see it.
I personally would have laughed if the movie came out on Easter Sunday. Scary bunny + Easter+ Donnie= Fun!

Anyways, there are several issues stated in forums that the movie, S. Darko, will suck eggs... Easter eggs..
Since I guess I've been obsessed with all these issues in Donnie Darko, I might as well answer some of them. I've been researching this for a few days and came up with some answers.
This will most likely be a weekly or daily post on my blog on
Donnie Darko answers. Tune in for tomorrow for another explanation.

Fire and Water
Problem- People think it's retarded that S. Darko ( or Sam as I'll call her) can conjur fire.
Answer- In the book, Philosophy of Time Travel, Roberta Sparrow states that the Living Reciever (Donnie or Sam) can manipulate fire and water. (And extra strength and telekinesis, but that isn't this topic.)
Example- Donnie lights fire to Jim Cunningham's house using gasoline. It never clearly shows how he burned it, but it never showed a lighter or match, so you could assume it was his power.
